Experience all the Peaks in one Mega Challenge, after a year of nothing to challenge the mind and body, the 2021 “High 5 at Hanging Rock” returns as the Friends of Sauratown Mountains shift to “COVID safe events”. The second annual event raises funds to support Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain state parks. Participants will trek over ten miles of park trails to reach five of the highest elevations within Hanging Rock State Park, summiting Moore’s Knob, Cooks Wall and Hanging Rock mountains and pass by two prominent rock outcrops, Wolf Rock and House Rock, along their journey.

Due to pandemic restrictions, the challenge will be held over 7 days, April 5-11, 2021. Participants will complete the challenge on their own without support from the park or the friends group. There will be a full 10 mile version suitable for ages 10 plus, and a 5 mile option perfect for all, even younger kids with parental supervision. Pick the perfect day for your group, start early morning and finish by afternoon, weekdays are better to avoid crowds. Registration is $35 per person and ends at midnight on March 21st.
