NOTE: WEST MAIN STREET will be blocked off from Bridge St to Church St (5pm – 9pm) to provide safe access for the family train rides.

Light up Elkin event listings:
Downtown shopping open late till 9pm. Shops decorated for the holidays.
Hot chocolate available at Heritage Center (compliments of Elkin First Baptist Church), at 102 E Main St (compliments of Vine Church), and at Train Ride area in the old Wells Fargo parking lot (for sale along with other treats).
4:00 / 4:45 / 5:30pm – Puppet Shows at Elkin Public Library
4:00 pm – Make reindeer necklaces (at Elkin Public Library); last call at 5:30 pm.
5:00 to 7:00 pm Fundraiser dinner at Elkin Masonic Lodge on W Market St. Our traditional meal includes country ham, eggs, biscuits, grits, jelly, butter, coffee, milk, water, and juice just $7.00. Come support this fundraiser for the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, NC. Parking available nearby (this fundraiser is separate from the Light up Night scheduled activities, but is occurring that night in downtown).
5:00 pm – ROCK FAÇADE PARK across from train rides. Public Restrooms, Elkin Farmers Market vendors / Face Painting Booth / Santa’s Mailbox (all located at Rock Façade Park) till 9:00 pm. Santa’s Mailbox is there daily from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Elkin photo ops (#LightUpElkin gobo)

6:00 pm – Train rides begin on W Main Street in blocked off area (6pm – 9pm). Line up by the old Wells Fargo parking lot.
6:00 pm – Elkin High School Band entertains at Heritage Center prior to tree lighting ceremony.
6:00 pm – Kids Activity Zone / outdoor fun & games (Heritage Center, 257 Standard St) till 9:00 pm.
6:30 pm – Tree Lighting Ceremony (Heritage Center, 257 Standard St), music, YVCS students sing, Mayor speaks.
6:30 pm – Santa arrives at Ceremony; photos with Santa (inside Heritage Center) till 8:00 pm. Bring your camera!

6:30 pm – Elkin Vine Line FREE Shuttle service available throughout the night:
• At parking lots: Park at the Town Hall Parking lot or First Baptist Church (FBC) parking lot (on Gwyn & Market St), and wait for a friendly shuttle to take you to the Heritage Center. Parking lot shuttles run from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and take you to the Heritage Center for the tree light up ceremony.
• From the Heritage Center & 3 locations. Elkin Vine Line Shuttles drop-off and pick-up riders throughout the evening till 9pm :
1) Heritage Center at 257 Standard St (tree lighting, Santa, EHS band, kids activity zone)
2) at Southern on Main (train rides, Reeves Theater, Town Hall parking lot, face painting, farmers market),
3) Liberty (dancing entertainment, parking lot at FBC),
4) and the Chatham Mill YMCA (Foothills Art’s Center Holiday Market).

7:00 pm – Foothills Holiday Market (at the Chatham Mill YMCA) open till 10 pm. LIVE MUSIC 7-10pm Fiddle Dee Dee. Christmas Ornaments will be sold here tonight and all day Saturday till 5pm.
7:00 pm – The Reeves Theater offers free holiday music by Elkin Big Band with guest singers Martha Bassett and Pat Lawrence, until 9:00 pm. General seating; everyone welcome.
7:30 pm – Holiday Dancers (Academy of Dance Arts and Performance, and Footloose Express Cloggers) performing at Coley Hall, 222 E Main St, inside the banquet hall, till 8:30 pm.

Saturday, December 7
8:30 am – 2:00 pm * Breakfast with Santa at The Reeves. RESERVATIONS ONLY. Call the Reeves by phone to reserve. *
10:00 am – 5:00 pm * Foothills Holiday Market (at the Chatham Mill YMCA) *
7:00 am – 9:00 pm *All day Saturday – Last day of the Shop Small GREAT RACE event. Drop off your sheets to any participating retail store in downtown by this evening (or drop off at Elkin Town Hall on Monday, Dec 2.)

Sunday, December 8
2:00 pm * Parade line up begins in Jonesville by the old bowling alley. *
3:00 pm *Elkin/Jonesville Christmas Parade begins (lasts usually till 5 or 5:30 pm) *

Join us in the Historic Gilvin Roth YMCA Auditorium at Chatham Mill for our annual holiday craft & gift market featuring vendors, studio artists, and adult/youth craft workshops. Elkin Christmas ornaments will be on sale both days here.

Live holiday music 7-10 pm on Friday during Light Up Elkin.

A selection of artifacts from Chatham Mill will also be on display as will our vision boards for the new center and the building’s restoration.
