Elkin Big Band: Thursday, September 12, 2024

12 September 2024
The Surry Arts Council presents Elkin Big Band LIVE in concert at the Blackmon Amphitheatre.

Founded in 1982, The Elkin Big Band is an authentic 18-piece big band – with thirteen horns and a full-rhythm section. The band has a broad repertoire that includes many of the greatest charts in the history of jazz from the 1920s through the present day. They play Irving Berlin to Herbie Hancock, Leonard Bernstein to Miles Davis, Duke Ellington to Stevie Wonder, and George Gershwin to Quincy Jones; the catalog represents a deep dive into the genre and everything you would need to dance the night away.
