Christmas at Bethabara

Immerse yourself in Moravian holiday traditions at Historic Bethabara Park!

Friday, December 6th 6:30-9:30 PM
– DADA- Downtown Arts District Association 1st Friday Artwalk: Look forward, Travel back with DADA & Historic Bethabara
– Park in downtown Winston-Salem near (or in) the Sixth and Cherry Street Parking Deck. Trolleys from Triad ECO Adventures will take visitors from the Artwalk to the Gemeinhaus at Historic Bethabara Park to see the park lit up at night and experience the Gemeinhaus by candlelight.
– The trolley will pick up at the “Travel Back Trolley Stop” in front of Studio 7 next to the Sixth and Cherry Street Parking Deck. The trolley will run continuously between DADA Gallery Hop and Historic Bethabara Park from 6:30PM-9:30PM. A recommended donation of $2 per person covers round-trip travel and entry to the Gemeinhaus.

Saturday, December 7th 2:00-6:00 PM
-The Gemeinhaus will be decorated for Christmas and open for candlelit tours while world-renowned violinist, Jennifer Curtis, from the International Contemporary Ensemble performs in the sanctuary from 2:00-4:30 PM.
– The Carolina Colonial Dancers will be back to dance for us with their intricate colonial costuming inside the Brewer’s House.
– Stuart, Bethabara’s potter, will be creating Moravian pottery in the Potter’s House
– The Triad Woodcarvers and Joel Cooper will be at the barn with their wares
– We will have textile demonstrations in the Log House
– Make a Moravian star or try your hand at Christmas tree quilling (fun for visitors of all ages) in the Visitor Center
– Shop local artist, Haint Blue Studio, and our gift shop for all your local, unique Christmas shopping needs
– The Saturday festivities end with a traditional Moravian Lovefeast service put on by Bethabara Moravian Church starting at 5:00 PM.

LOVEFEAST INFORMATION, 5:00-6:00 PM
The Lovefeast is a traditional, Moravian, religious service put on by Bethabara Moravian Church. Because of the limited capacity of people we can legally accommodate in the sanctuary, we will be passing out (free) tickets to attend the service, first-come-first-served from the front door of the Gemeinhaus on the day of the event starting at 4:30 PM.
