Burke County, NC
Visit Chimney Rock from the point of view of the Last of the Mohicans as part of the 30th anniversary reunion weekend this May. Back in 1992, Chimney Rock was covered with actors, film crew, makeup artists and more, acting out some of the final scenes of the Last of the Mohicans, one of the biggest movies of that year. Travel back to the location 30 years later to learn about the experience from Leon Goodstriker, one of the extras in the film who experienced it all first hand. The tour will start in downtown Morganton that morning at 9:30 where guests will ride in a coach to the state park with the actor and staff from the Burke County tourism office. Upon arrival, lunch will be served and the Chimney Rock staff will talk about the park and information about the filming. After lunch, guests will get a tour of the park through the Last of the Mohicans perspective before loading up the bus at 2:30 to return to Morganton.
This will be a tour that fans of the movie, or of the park, will not want to miss. Tickets for the Chimney Rock excursion or any of the other festival activities visit mohicans.nctdm.com
