The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville St.) will host the Go Green Garden Show on Sunday, April 14, 2019, from 9 am to 2 pm. This annual event connects garden enthusiasts directly to the producers of North Carolina heritage, native and regional plants. This is THE spring event for everyone with a green thumb, from the patio gardener to budding urban farmer! The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market event is the largest all-local growers only event is the area.
Customers can find a variety of flowering plants ranging from potted plants to shrubs for walkways. Crowd favorites such as azaleas, hibiscus, lilac, roses, violas, and mums will be sold by several vendors. Other flowering plants will include flowering almonds, mountain laurels, sedum, ajuga, and so much more.
Starter vegetables, herbs, and fruit-bearing plants will also be available for patrons to purchase. Plants perfect for urban kitchen gardens, boxed gardens, or outdoor vegetable gardens will all be available. Fruit bearing bushes such as blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries will be at the show. Herbs such as thyme, mint, foxglove, basil, chives, and oregano will be the perfect addition to any kitchen. Vegetable starters will help patrons kick off spring right with kale, arugula, Brussel sprouts, asparagus, spinach, and more.
Customers looking to add a little shade to their yard or gardens can also find several trees ready for planting at the Go Green Garden Show. From the North Carolina classics, Dogwood and Crape Myrtles to Japanese Maples, Willows, and Cherry Trees customers will have no shortage of options.
Master Gardeners from the Cooperative Extension will be onsite to assist shoppers in finding the perfect plant for their situation and answer any gardening questions that they may have. Get hands-on experience with the growers to find out tips and tricks to keep plants flourishing.
Plants are not the only thing customers can expect to find at the Go Green Garden Show. Vendors will have plant pots and boxes as the perfect accent piece to any room. As well as wind chimes, bird houses, and bird baths perfect for any yard.
The event is free to the public and has free parking on site. While shopping for all types of plants shoppers can experience live, local music. Meet local producers and artisans and grab lunch or drinks from the food truck available throughout the show. Coffee and pastries will be available throughout the show from Augustino Gusto.
