Jan and I are once again heading to Mt. Airy for a weekend of Mayberry fun and the 7th Mayberry Meet-up and I hope you can join us!

The “BIG” part of the weekend is on Friday the 19th when Betty Lynn (Thelma Lou) is scheduled to be greeting fans at the Andy Griffith Museum 12:30-3:30 p.m (ET). The museum will have 8×10 photos available that you can purchase and have Betty autograph.

If you haven’t seen the museum since the BIG remode, or even if you have, you *will* want to take time for a tour. It is amazing!

For more information about what’s required to get Betty’s autograph, visit the museum website at http://www.andygriffithmuseum.org/ or call (336) 786-1604. There is $8 fee for touring the museum/getting access to Betty.

We will gather at the Mayberry Motor Inn gazebo on Friday and Saturday evenings for some good visiting and to watch episodes of The Andy Griffith Show together. On Saturday evening we’ll have subs sandwiches (everybody will be expected to contribute to the cost) and whatever those in attendance choose to provide as a “pot luck” type meal.

If you’re interested, hurry and make reservations at the Mayberry Motor Inn – Phone 336-786-4109 – (they may have rooms if you hurry). If it gets full, there are other places to stay nearby in Mt. Airy. You are welcome to join us at the gazebo for fun and fellowship even if you can’t stay at the Motor Inn but try to stay with us there if you can since the Mayberry Motor Inn digs us and we need to dig them back.

The last six years have been great fun and each year has seen more people attend than the year before. Watching episodes together, visiting with friends, and enjoying good conversation is what this gathering is all about.

I’ll come up with a schedule of events as the dates draws near but things I’m pretty sure we’ll do:

* Visit the Andy Griffith Museum on 19th to get Betty’s autograph and look around.
* Eat Dinner on Friday at “The Depot” in Dobson, NC (Or head out on your own to eat)
