28th Annual Cornshucking Frolic

A traditional rural frolic featuring the harvesting, shucking, shelling, and grinding of corn. Cider making, quilting, cooking, woodworking, wagon rides, making apple butter and molasses, and numerous craft demonstrations are just a few of the activities that will be held that day. Bring a lawn chair and sit back and listen to some great traditional, bluegrass, and gospel music by area groups. Cap the day off with chicken stew, pintos, fried pies, and apple cider. Wonderful products & gifts available at our Country Store.

Music groups for the Cornshucking include: Mickey Galyean & Cullen’s Bridge, Carson Peters & Iron Mountain, Travis Frye & Blue Mountain, Harrison Ridge, Slate Mountain Ramblers, Zephyr Lightning Bolts, and CandelFirth. Specific times each band is playing will be announced at a later date.

Admission fees are as follows: $8.00 per adult, $5.00 for children ages 6 – 12, and children 5 and under free. Fee charged for food, drinks, and some craft activities. No outside food or pets (other than service animals) allowed. For information, call 336/325/2298. .
