This April, get to Goldsboro where the month kicks off with Pig In The Park on April 5-6th in historical Waynesborough Village, where twenty cook teams will face off in a whole hog BBQ contest, making enough delicious food to satisfy over 5,000 festival goers.
Hot on its heels is the NC Pickle Festival. Held this year on April 13th in Mount Olive, the 33rd NC Pickle Festival is in a league of its own for pickle enthusiasts. Every year, crowds of thousands turn out to experience the vast array of pickle themed events, from pickle eating contests, to Tour De Pickle (25,53 or 75 mile bike races), and a range of family entertainment. The origins of the NC Pickle Festival rest on the fact that Mount Olive is home to the much loved Mt Olive Pickle Company, now the USA’s largest pickle distributer and officially dill-icious (don’t get us started on the pickle puns!)
Last, but by no means least, the Wings Over Wayne Air Show is back April 27-28th on the flight line of Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro! Awarded Event of the Year in 2017, the show only happens every other year and is free and open to the public. Goldsboro’s skies will come alive with the world’s most impressive airpower, such as the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds, F-35 demo team, TORA TORA TORA, and much more. There’s also plenty on the ground to see and experience for the whole family during this two-day show.
