North Carolina Trail Days VI

North Carolina Trail Days VI

Celebrate NC outdoor recreation at Elkin/Jonesville’s Trail Days (June 5-8, 2025). Hike, paddle, climb, bike, and explore!

June 5th – 8th, Elkin, NC

NC Trail Days is a celebration of the outdoor recreation opportunities that abound in our state, particularly in the foothills where the towns of Elkin and Jonesville host this four-day festival. Separated only by the Yadkin River, the two represent the ‘Great Trails State’ moniker well featuring an ever-evolving trails network across their communities. Here, you can hike the Mountains-to-Sea trail, paddle unique stretches of the River, try out exceptional rock climbing routes at Pilot and Stone Mountain State Parks and cycle the greater Surry and Yadkin County countryside. Those are only a few examples! The event weekend highlights all of this with organized activities and themes ranging from waterfalls and birdwatching, to moonshine still discoveries and en plein air painting. Main Street challenge courses, archery and trout fishing are some options for the kids; dogs too, have hike offerings allowing NC Trail Days to accommodate all.

Conveniently located between two state parks and just a short drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as the Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Triangle areas, you’ll want to explore this area. A very walkable downtown Elkin is the central hub with eclectic shops and restaurants that can be explored in one or several days. Hey, why not take the whole weekend? Accommodation options range from hotels and bed and breakfasts, to just about every variety of camping in the region. Come explore more of Elkin and discover Jonesville if you haven’t. Whether you decide to paddle the Yadkin, ride the Surry Scenic bikeway, trek along the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, or hear from the small town, nature-inspired residents themselves, mark your calendar for Thursday to Sunday, June 5th – 8th, 2025 and come find your trail.
