Morganton Heats Up In September!

After summer’s lazy days, the town comes alive with the 42nd Annual Morganton Festival on September 6th and 7th. Expect free music and entertainment on multiple stages, over a mile of crafts to browse, carnival rides and games, and of course, delicious fair food. This year’s headliner for the Courthouse Square Stage is country music star Drake Milligan. Hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, Milligan was a fan favorite on season 17 of America’s Got Talent and recently toured with country superstar Cody Johnson.

Don’t miss the Third Thursday Art Crawl on September 19th from 4-7 pm throughout downtown. And to kick off its new season on September 27th, the CoMMA Performing Arts Center presents Electric Avenue: The 80’s MTV Experience.

Stock up on fresh produce at Morganton’s vibrant Farmers Markets. Every Saturday from 8 am to noon you’ll find locally grown fruits, vegetables, and artisan goods at the market located at 300 Beach Street. And if Wednesdays work better for you, there’s a market at 111 N Green St from 10 am to 2 pm.

Looking for a casual post-work bite? Grab a poke bowl bursting with fresh ingredients or juicy burgers hot off the grill. Craving a celebratory dinner? Upscale restaurants with an intimate atmosphere and meticulously crafted dishes await. In between, you’ll find hidden gems serving Irish pub classics, casual fine dining, and everything in between.

But the deliciousness doesn’t stop there! Downtown Morganton boasts a thriving craft beer scene. Three excellent breweries, each with its own distinct personality, are mere steps from each other.
