A new challenge helps usher in spring on April 6th as “Friends of Sauratown Mountains” presents the High5 @ Hanging Rock. Be your own champion as you run or hike to the five big summits in Hanging Rock State Park. This is a fun & challenging ten mile outdoor adventure that showcases the natural beauty of one of the best state parks in North Carolina. All proceeds will benefit Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain State Parks. Registration is $30. Delicious food trucks will be located at the finish line including Papa’s House & Taqueria Luciano’s. Tell your friends to Meet you on Main this April as the King Chamber of Commerce kicks off their annual street festival during the evening of April 27th in downtown King, NC. Meander the streets while enjoying a delicious meal from a food truck, as you explore over 75 vendors, and enjoy LIVE music filling the air.

Warmer nights, mean hot cars, tops down and motorcycles. The town of Walnut Cove, NC is bringing back the “Classic Car and Motorcycle Cruise In” to the streets of downtown on the last Friday of each month starting in April. Head on down after 5pm and watch as cars line the streets, music is provided by Palmetto Theatre each month.
