Combo Climbing Gym And Bike Park Opens Near Hendersonville

The Riveter, North Carolina’s first indoor climbing gym and bike park, opened this spring in the Western North Carolina mountains near Hendersonville.

This unique facility brings outdoor adventure indoors with 16,000 square feet of climate-controlled climbing terrain, coupled with an 18,000-square-foot bike park underneath an all-weather canopy.

The indoor portion of The Riveter also includes a yoga studio, meeting space, libation station and retail shop. The facility is surrounded by an outdoor set of progressive flow line biking trails, all part of a 10-acre sustainable working farm in the Mills River section of Henderson County.

“This is not just a climbing gym and this is not just a bike park,” says co-owner Elizabeth Jackson said. “This is a community built around our mutual love for outdoor adventure.”

The facility is less than a mile from the popular Sierra Nevada Brewery, and local officials are excited to add another attraction for folks visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“We’re delighted to have such a unique attraction here in Henderson County,” says county tourism director Beth Carden. “Our mountains are known for outdoor recreation and this fits in nicely.”

The Riveter is open seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, providing daily activities for visitors regardless of the weather. It is also family-friendly, with children and adults enjoying the climbing walls and bike trails.

Yoga classes, biking clinics and climbing clinics are available on a regular basis. Visitors may bring their own climbing and biking equipment, or rent it on site.

A day pass is $20 for adults and $18 for children 18 and under. For more info, visit: www.RiveterNC.com
