Carolina Renaissance Festival… What is it?

The 28th annual Carolina Renaissance Festival.

The Festival is a full day of entertainment, adventure, and pageantry! History comes alive with hundreds of costumed characters re-creating a 16th Century European Marketplace in the town of Fairhaven. It’s a 25-acre outdoor open air village nestled in the forest and meadows. At every turn, Fairhaven boasts castles, cottages, kitchens, and pubs, each filled with food and drink, fine hand-made arts and crafts, artisan demonstrations, games, rides, and non-stop entertainment. Premium attractions include Jousting Knights on Horseback battling 3 times daily, Falconry presentations, and Swimming Mermaids.

16 stages feature comedy, acrobats, medieval musicians, singers, dancers, storytellers, magicians, jugglers, and puppeteers – performing continuously for 7 1⁄2 hours each day.

A tournament arena displays skilled stunt riders, outfitted in suits of armor, riding their horses into battle during three jousts each day.

Hundreds of costumed characters roam the village and interact with patrons.

The 25-acre village is filled with over 140 open-air, storybook shops and medieval tents.

The Royal Kitchens serve a vast feast with famous giant roasted turkey drumsticks,steak-on-a-stake, pizza, bread bowl stews, salads, and more. The Monk’s Bakery, the Cappuccino Inn, and the Chocolate Shoppe tempt you with a variety of unique desserts. Pubs serve beer and wine. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available!
