If you’re looking for even more adventure, explore Panthertown Valley in Cashiers, which has almost a dozen waterfalls (it’s such a large area we highly recommend a map).

Many areas around us in Western North Carolina are also open – like Waynesville and Bryson City, so use us as your home base for exploring. While Helene’s impacts are lasting in many areas around us, we ask you to plan ahead and chart your course to avoid those areas east of us still recovering.
The Great Smokies are open along with the Oconaluftee Visitor Center. A great highlight is visiting in the early morning or late evening hours to see the majestic elk!
Coming up right around the corner is the WNC Pottery Festival held in Sylva on Nov. 2. This juried show brings upwards of 40 of the most talented potters in the country. Don’t miss out!
While many things are open, most NC sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway remains closed while damage assessments and clean up to occur. But don’t worry, there’s more than enough fun for an entire weekend here.
