Muddy River Distillery

Muddy River Distillery announced it will make hand sanitizer to supply healthcare and first responders in Belmont, N.C. and Gaston County. Since Muddy River has temporarily closed distillery tours, the production of sanitizer is a new priority. On Friday, Muddy River donated 95 gallons of hand sanitizer to CaroMont Health.

Additionally, Muddy River Distillery plans to produce and donate over 300 gallons of hand sanitizer for use by CaroMont Health, first responders and nonprofits in Belmont and Gaston County.

Home improvement retailer Lowe’s is stepping in to help offset additional operating costs for the distillery, allowing the initial 300 gallons of hand sanitizer to be made and donated to these heroes of our community.

“We’re happy that Muddy River can do our part in responding to the coronavirus pandemic in our local area and thankful that Lowe’s wanted to step in to ensure our small business could do this without worrying about additional operating expenses to do the right thing,” said Caroline Delany, co-owner of Muddy River Distillery.

The distillery is asking organizations in the area to visit muddyriverdistillery.com and submit a request. Muddy River is also looking for access to various container sizes for distribution and will only be able to provide hand sanitizer to organizations versus individuals.
