8th Annual King City Pow Wow Returns To North Carolina

Calling all culture enthusiasts! The energetic and vibrant King City Pow Wow returns to King, North Carolina for its 8th year on Saturday, August 10th, and Sunday, August 11th, 2024. This free event offers a chance to immerse yourself in the rich traditions of Native American cultures through dance, music, and community.

The powwow will be held at the American Legion, located at 436 S. Main Street, King, NC, and kicks off with a Grand Entry at noon on Saturday, followed by a second Grand Entry at 6:30 pm. Witness the captivating sight of dancers in colorful regalia performing traditional steps and intricate patterns. Throughout the weekend, various tribes will showcase their unique styles, from the fancy dance to the grass dance, each with its own story and meaning.

Beyond the dance floor, the powwow offers a vibrant marketplace filled with authentic Native American arts and crafts. Explore handcrafted jewelry, pottery, textiles, and artwork, all created with traditional techniques passed down through generations. Local food vendors will tantalize taste buds with delicious Native American cuisine and familiar festival fare.
