Join the excitement in Uptown Shelby, North Carolina, on October 19th for the annual NC Liver Mush Festival: Mush, Music, & Mutts! This lively event is a tribute to the community’s favorite regional delicacy—liver mush—and offers plenty of fun for all ages. Local producers, food vendors, and restaurants will be serving liver mush in various forms, from traditional recipes to creative new takes. Participate in or watch the Liver Mush Eating Contest or submit your best recipe for the Liver Mush Recipe Contest. You can even catch a live stream of the Liver Mush Cookoff at Greenbrook Design.
Music is a key feature, with two stages offering performances that highlight Shelby’s rich musical heritage. On the Carolina Harmony Trail Stage, the lineup starts with Mutual Love Club at 9:00 AM, followed by The Mabry Brothers, The Casey Ray Band, and The Wilder Flower. The Albemarle Main Stage features the legendary Mac Arnold and Plate Full O’ Blues at 11:00 AM, the Tray Wellington Band at 12:30 PM, and festival headliners Darin & Brooke Aldridge from 2:30 to 4:00 PM.
For pet enthusiasts, the MUTTS RollOver Pets Zone provides endless entertainment with costume contests, the Musical Sit, a pet parade, and the Dynamo Dog Shows. With dog-themed vendors scattered throughout the festival, it’s the perfect day for pet owners and their furry companions to enjoy!
