New season, new fun – is how Goldsboro, NC, feels about fall! Whether you’re a foodie, sports lover, theatre fan or like nothing better than a chance to pick the brains of some seriously impressive female leaders – look no further than Goldsboro, NC.
For those foodies amongst us, the food festival, Taste of Wayne County is held on October 12th, in Downtown Goldsboro. The festival is a delicious combination of local food, drink, music and live entertainment – and there’s an all-important beer tent this year too! To sweeten the taste even more, the festival was originally set up to benefit the local community, and raises funds for the United Way of Wayne County. This year’s festival is set to be the tastiest yet as Shrimp and Grits Throwdown are added to the line up (drool!) Head over to unitedwayne.org/taste-of-wayne.com for tickets, $15 per adult.
Once you’ve eaten your fill at the Taste of Wayne County, you’ll be ready for a bit of movement. And what better way than to watch someone else doing all the running about! Goldsboro is hosting the US Quidditch Mid Atlantic Regional Championships on November 9-10th, – the first time US Quidditch has brought an event to North Carolina. Don’t know much about Quidditch? Learn from the best by watching a game for free at the Bryan Multi-Sports Complex, or if that’s not your jam, take part by watching a special screening of Harry Potter at the Paramount Downtown (wizard costume optional!) All tickets to the tournament games are free, check out the visitgoldsboronc Facebook page events for more details.
Last but by no means least, Goldsboro is hosting a one-time event in October which is set to be a night to remember. WISE – Women Inspiring Success and Empowerment, is a women’s only evening on October 18th. The evening will kick off with a cocktail hour, followed by a fireside chat with an impressive line-up of women, including Vivian Howard, Chief Justice Beasley, Renee Chou
