2024 Loch Norman Highland Games and Scottish Festival – 30th Anniversary

Historic Rural Hill – Huntersville, NC

The Loch Norman Highland Games is a traditional Scottish festival that takes place annually at Historic Rural Hill, located near the shores of Lake Norman in North Carolina. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the event, which will take place on April 20th and 21st 2024.

The festival celebrates Scottish heritage and culture through a variety of events, activities, and competitions. Visitors can enjoy traditional Scottish music and dance performances, as well as athletic competitions such as caber tossing, hammer throwing, and tug-of-war.

In addition to the athletic events, there are also cultural demonstrations, including Scottish food and drink, historical reenactments, and educational presentations about Scottish history and culture.

The Rural Hill Scotch Whisky Seminar Presented by McIntosh Law Firm exposes participants to the world of Scotch Whisky by allowing participants to taste and explore several different varieties. The tasting selection is different each year, but in years past we have enjoyed various years and bottlings of Famous Grouse, Ardbeg, Monkey Shoulder, Black Bottle, Glenlivet, Macallan, Glenmorangie, Highland Park, Talisker, Clynelish, Glenkinchie and more! Always informative, never stuffy or boring, the Loch Norman Highland Games wouldn’t be the same without these great seminars!

The Loch Norman Highland Games is known for its sense of community and inclusivity. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the events and competitions, and there are activities for all ages, including a children’s area.

The Loch Norman Highland Games is a lively and festive celebration of Scottish culture and the 30th anniversary promises to be an especially memorable event.
