Destinations off the beaten path

Issue 174 of the Destination Magazine celebrates its 15th year by guiding readers to a variety of local and regional experiences across North Carolina this fall.

For outdoor adventurers, the magazine features hiking, paddling, and soaring in Burke County and the seven-acre Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill.

Music lovers can find information on Mooresville’s Bands, Brews & BBQ Festival, featuring headliners Jefferson Starship and Night Ranger , and the Black Mountain Blues Festival with artists like Eric Gales and Robert Randolph.

The issue is packed with food events, including Winston-Salem’s first Beer, Bourbon and Barbecue Festival , and a fiery festival of exotic meats like wild boar and alligator at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. Other highlights include Eden’s 22nd annual RiverFest and the historic Stokes Stomp Festival, returning to Danbury after 51 years.
