Inspired Music Making: Eastern Music Festival

Eastern Music Festival (EMF), Greensboro’s nationally recognized classical music festival and summer educational program, returns June 25 through July 30, 2022, for the 61st season. Extraordinary musicians from around the world gather in Greensboro each summer bringing their talents to perform the works of the great masters, past and present. 

Days and nights at EMF are filled with the echoes of music across of the campus of Guilford College. Hundreds of Young Artists practice, perform, and strive for musical excellence; teachers guide and encourage the students; and world-class guest artists and mentors share their talents and wisdom. For five weeks, the community is abuzz with the sounds that are EMF. The festival exemplifies the best of what great music can foster: dedication, devotion, inspiration, and community.

The 2022 season will include 60+ performances at its home location in Guilford Colleges’ Dana Auditorium, as well as other locations in Greensboro and beyond. Featured performers this season include violinist Lara St. John (July 2), and pianists Santiago Rodriguez (July 9), and The Mile End Trio (July 19). Award-winning maestro Gerard Schwarz conducts the Eastern Festival Orchestra and other EMF ensembles throughout the season.

Join Eastern Music Festival from 1–6 p.m., Saturday, June 18, in Downtown Greensboro for the sixth Annual Chamber Crawl. Sip, stroll, and snack your way into the summer season accompanied by a soundtrack of free live classical music.
