In December 2021, a powerhouse lineup of North Carolina’s finest musicians came together for what was meant to be a single night honoring the legendary John Prine. That one-off performance at The Reeves Theater in Elkin, NC revealed something extraordinary—an undeniable on-stage magic that demanded more.
Since then, The Tree of Forgiveness Band has been captivating audiences across NC and VA, with standout appearances at RoosterWalk Festival and an upcoming set inside the Bluegrass Caverns at Tennessee’s Cave Fest.
Their tribute spans the full arc of John Prine’s storied career—from his groundbreaking 1971 debut to his final 2018 masterpiece The Tree of Forgiveness. Expect to hear timeless classics like Illegal Smile, Sam Stone, Angel From Montgomery, and Grandpa Was A Carpenter, along with deep-cut gems like Bruised Orange and Egg & Daughter Nite.
