LNHG Piping and Drumming Registration 2024

Solo Competitions | Novice through Open & Bands | Service, Grade 3, 4, 5

All Competitions take place on April 20, 2024 at Historic Rural Hill 4431 Neck Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078

Registration Closes: April 1, 2024 11:59pm

Solo Requirements: solo competitors (with the exception of novice snare pad and novice practice chanter) must be registered with the EUSPBA/Other Recognized Piping & Drumming Association and in following the rules listed here on page 10

Solo Registration: $35 fee per grade category, please add an additional ticket fee if competing in more than one category and check the boxes as they apply i.e. Over 50, Amateur 18 & Younger.

No field entries accepted. Your confirmation email and e-ticket QR code serve as your ticket into the contest. Order of play will be emailed to competitors before April 20, 2024 as well as further instructions on parking, check-in location and approximate start times (8am for piping & 9 am for drumming). All solo competitions are governed by the EUSPBA “Competition Rules & Regulations”.

Pipe Band Registration: $135 registration fee

Grade 3 MSR & Medley (optional)

Grade 4 Medley & MSR (optional)

Grade 5 March Set

Service Band March Set – Branch Championship (march and/or slow march set lasting 3-5 minutes)

Bands must be registered and in good standing with EUSPBA/Other Recognized Piping & Drumming Association. All Pipe Band Competitions are governed by the EUSPBA “Competition Rules & Regulations”. Soon after registration closes on April 1, 2024 11:59pm, an email will be sent from Courtney Schnee lochnormanpipedrumcompetition@gmail.com with further information. A packet will be mailed with tickets and parking info. The Band Draw for Order of Play will take place on April 12, 2024 posted and emailed immediately following.

Registered Pipe Band Requirements: play in Opening and Closing Massed Bands Ceremonies (approximately 12pm and 4:30pm) as well as sending a band representative to the Piping/Drumming Tent for a 10am meeting on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Pipe Competitions begin at approximately 1 PM.

Pipe Band Travel Money Allocation: money is given to the first ten bands to register and is based on one-way travel until budgeted amount is exhausted as follows: 100-150 Miles – $150.00; 151-250 Miles – $250.00; and; > 250 Miles – $350.00

Pipe Band Prizes:

Grade 3 MSR (1st $500, 2nd $400, 3rd $300)

Grade 4 Medley (1st $400, 2nd $300, 3rd $200)

Grade V March Set (1st $300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100)

Service Band March Set

Open Solo Piping/Drumming Prizes: 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50

Grade 1 Overall Winner: Awarded an invitation to compete in The Sun Belt Invitational Piping Competition —An Crios Gréine – Amateur Sandy Jones Memorial Contest in November in Orlando, Florida – This invitation is sponsored by Clan Sutherland – covers 2 night hotel and fees

Amateur 18 & Younger Piping Overall Winner Prize: MacLellan Bagpipes African Blackwood solo pipe chanter – $350 chanter made, donated, and presented at closing ceremonies by Roddy MacLellan of MacLellan Bagpipes in Zebulon, NC

Grade 4JR Piping Overall Winner Prize: engraved D Naill African Blackwood Practice Chanter sponsored by The St. Andrews Society of Carolina and presented at closing ceremonies

Trophies/Awards Policy: It is the responsibility of the competitor to collect his/her competition sheets and awards at the Piping & Drumming Tent on the day of the event. LNHG is not responsible for mailing any uncollected competition pages and awards.

Questions regarding Competition Policies & Rules: All events at Loch Norman Highland Games Piping & Drumming are governed by the EUSPBA “Competition Rules & Regulations”.

Refund Policy: Loch Norman Highland Games will not issue refunds

Inclement Weather Plan: Competitions will take place rain or shine. In case of severe weather, competitors will be notified of any changes.
