Beat the Heat On Beech Mountain

Beech Mountain, NC

A summer to trip to Beech Mountain, eastern America’s highest town, promises cool fun for the entire family. Just a short drive takes you to North Carolina’s cool, breezy highlands, where a full schedule of fun, family-friendly activities, many of them free, awaits you. There are plenty of lodging options on Beech Mountain, from hotels to condos and houses suitable for families and groups of all sizes.

Hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing are some of the activities that make for an unforgettable afternoon on Beech, not to mention the scenic chair lift rides and spectacular panoramic views from the summit. That’s not all, every weekend the mountain comes alive with the sound of music, free music!

Throughout the summer you can enjoy free concerts starting Fridays with Family Fun Night at the Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria. The Resort is the place to be on Saturdays with live music at 5506’ Skybar or at the Beech Mountain Brewing Company’s Taproom & Grill and every Sunday in July, Fred’s General Mercantile offers Sunset Concerts at the Gazebo.

And then there is the wildly popular Summer Concert Series at the Beech Mountain Resort. This year’s line-up includes great acts like, String Cheese Incident w/The Wood Brothers, Need to Breath w/Yola and Dispatch w/Maggie Rose to name a few. Visit beechmountainresort.com for full line-up and ticket information.

It’s not all about music, the Beech Mountain Farmers’ Market is back! Fresh organic produce, honey, and baked goods are a few of the local products available for purchase. Join us every first Friday of the month from June to October from 2 – 6 pm in the public parking lot across from the sledding hill.
