Greetings, ghouls and goblins! The fall crisp air in Eden, N.C., signals the arrival of the most wonderfully wicked time of year. Get your costumes ready and your broomsticks tuned up because a lineup of ghostly, fun, and spooky events is creeping in! There are always fun and eerie things to do.

Kick off your October with a splash at the Octopus Fest, happening on Saturday, October 11th, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Head over to Blue Octopus Antiques & Artisans, 201 E. Meadow Rd Ste B, in Eden, for a day of family fun. Like shopping for a werewolf, zombie, vampire, or how about a cauldron or a new potion?  You never know what you’ll find here! You can enjoy delicious food from local food trucks, listen to live music, and check out a creepy, cool cruise-in featuring cars, trucks, and bikes. Don’t forget to participate in the 50/50 raffle for a chance to win big!

As the witching hour approaches, downtown Eden becomes the haunted place to be. On Friday, October 24th, from 3 PM to 6 PM, through the cobwebs, uptown merchants along Washington Street are hosting “Treat Street”. Bring your little monsters in costume for a “bootiful” time trick-or-treating at participating businesses. The event also features a bouncy house, hayrides, and photo props to capture all the ghoulishly good memories.

Later that same evening, the fun continues with the 3rd Annual Halloween & Hot Rods Trunk-or-Treat at Pit-Stop Auto Sales, 105 N. Kennedy St. The engines will be roaring from 5:30 to 8:00 PM, so get your little pumpkins, ghosts, or witches, and bring your candy bags ready for a night of classic cars and mountains of candy.

Then, on October 25th at 6 PM -8 PM, get ready for more haunted happenings! Trinity Wesleyan, 186 E Aiken Rd, Eden, is hosting their Harvest Festival and Trunk or Treat. It’s an evening packed with family-friendly fun you won’t want to miss, featuring tons of candy, giant inflatables, a petting farm, and food trucks like Kona Ice and Lil Donuts. You can even get a close-up look at a firetruck! Visit twc-life.com for more details.

So, mark your calendars and prepare for a frightfully good time all month long in Eden, just stay out of the graveyard!!
