

Sugar Mountain Summit Crawl

Sugar Mountain Resort’s 9th annual Summit Crawl is a fun and competitive event via foot to Sugar Mountain’s 5,300’ peak by way of the Easy Street, Gunther’s Way, and Northridge slopes. Summer Trail Map
STATS:
- Distance – approximately 6,500 ft. or 1.2 miles
- Vertical climb: 1,200 ft.
ENTRY FEE: (includes t-shirt & down-loading on Summit Express):
Competitors can ride the Summit Express back to the base of Sugar Mountain Resort. The competitor’s bib grants him/her a lift ride back to the base of the mountain. It is a one-way lift ticket.
- Adults (Ages 13 and older) $50
- Children (Ages 12 and under) $40
Entry fee is non-refundable.
REGISTRATION:
Register in-person M-F from 8am until 4pm or online anytime until 4pm, Tuesday, July 1.
Registration closes at 4pm on Tuesday, July 1. No event day registration.
Non-registered individuals are not permitted to participate and will be considered trespassing.
Limited to 400 Competitors
Start Time/Location: 9:00AM, slope-side on the gravel/dirt road directly in front of the Base Lodge
Route: The designated route begins slope-side on the gravel/dirt road directly in front of the base lodge. It travels in between the bottom station of the Summit Express lift and the Ski/Snowboard School building. Next, is a left turn up the Easy Street slope until a right turn is made onto the Laurel Lane slope. From there, cross under the GW lift and head straight up the Gunther’s Way slope. That will continue straight onto the Northridge slope, which will take you to the finish at the summit.
The route will be marked on event day.
PACKET-PICKUP: Sugar Mountain Resort Base Lodge
- Thursday, July 3, 10am until 6pm
- Friday, July 4, 7am until 8am
GENERAL PUBLIC SUMMIT EXPRESS LIFT RIDE TIMES AND RATES FOUND HERE
FIRST AID/WATER STATIONS sponsored by Lowes Foods are available on Gunther’s Way and at the summit.
AWARDS: Approximately 11:00am-11:30am on the slope-side deck
PETS are welcome but they must be on a leash at all times. They are not allowed to participate in the Summit Crawl or ride on the Summit Express lift. They may not be on the property decks, or in the buildings, unless it is a service animal.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE:
Food and beverage are available all day long
Breakfast served from 8:00am – 10:00am
ENTERTAINMENT:
Classic Highway performs live from 10:00am – 1:00pm
PARKING:
An abundance of free parking is available on Sugar Mountain Resort property
