Looking For A License To Chill? Come To Brevard And “Be Cool.”

Brevard, North Carolina

Brevard is open and ready to welcome visitors with open arms this season. There is a flurry of fun things planned in North Carolina’s Land of Waterfalls. Plus, winter is a hidden gem in our neck of the woods with so many ways to play outside. Ready to get out and explore? Here’s a little bit of travel inspiration to help you plan your upcoming trip to Brevard.

Take a step back in time to marvel at the wonders of Christmas Trees from the 1960s at the Aluminum Tree & Ornament Museum, better known as ATOM, at the Transylvania Heritage Museum. This exhibit featuring a land of vintage wonders runs through January 18th, 2025, so there’s plenty of time to stop by and take a gander.

Find yourself in the midst of cozy cabins and twinkling lights at Deerwoode Reserve’s Festival of Lights in Brevard. The cabins of Deerwoode shine exceptionally bright this time of year, so come out to see each one brilliantly decorated for the holiday season.  As you stroll through the property, you can also enjoy hot chocolate, s’mores, crafts for kids, hayrides, and visits with Santa. The event runs from December 19-22, 2024 from 5-8:30 pm each night. Admission is $5.00 and all proceeds benefit The Family Place of Transylvania County.

Here’s an insider tip for you — Winter is one of the best times of year to hike in and around Brevard. For starters, there are fewer crowds, so depending on where you lace up your boots, you may just have the whole trail to yourself.

Did we mention that there are 250 waterfalls to explore in our area? Winter is a great time to go waterfall hunting and see why we are known as North Carolina’s Land of Waterfalls.

There’s so much to explore in and around Brevard this time of year. Plan your trip today to experience it all for yourself!
