Competition BBQ is coming to West Jefferson. Sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society, Steak Cookoff Association, & Ashe Brew Club.

Welcome to Ashe County, the coolest corner of North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Theater & Event Center will host Ashe County’s First Annual Blue Ridge BBQ & Brew Festival on Labor Day weekend, August 30-31, 2019.The Theater will kick off the weekend’s festivities on Friday at 3:00pm with the SCA (Steak Cookoff Association) steak cookoff. Open to the public for FREE – come, watch the cookoff, purchase food from the BBQ vendors and watch the SCA awards at 5:30pm. Then on Friday night at 7:00pm we’ll have live music (indoor concert) by Blue Country Band from Boone, NC. Tickets for Blue Country Band will be available for purchase on the Theater website (www.blueridgetheater.com). Then on Saturday, we’ll have live music from Dirt Road Band and the Restless Band along with competition BBQ, craft beers, wine & spirit tastings. We have approximately 23 competition BBQ teams, 40 microbreweries, 7 distilleries, and 4 wineries signed up to participate in this event.The Festival is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, Steak Cookoff Association, and the Ashe Brew Club.For updates and more information, follow us on Facebook and the Blue Ridge Theater website.Grab your blanket or camping chair and come on out!
