DESCRIPTION:Join us for a celebration of Scottish heritage and culture at Historic Rural Hill on the evening of January 27th, 2024 for our annual Burns\n\n\nJoin us for a celebration of Scottish heritage and culture at Historic Rural Hill on the evening of January 27th, 2024 for our annual Burns Night Dinner.\nThe event will feature a three-course dinner and one free pour of Scotch whisky for the toast to the immortal memory of Robert Burns.  The dinner will be catered by Savory Moments Catering.\nThroughout the night, we’ll be raising a glass to the life and legacy of Robert Burns, with a series of toasts and speeches honoring the Bard of Scotland.\nTo set the mood for the evening, we’ll have live Scottish piping.  Our guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best tartan and kilts.\nMENU \nHors D’oeuvres \n\nCharcuterie\n\nS﻿oup: \n\nCock-a-leekie Soup\nC﻿hef’s Vegetarian Speciality Soup (comes with vegetarian entrée option)\n\nEntrée (CHOICE OF):\n\nBeef Brisket : With cream sauce, smashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables (carrots, onions, turnips, and rutabaga), and served with rolls and butter.\n\nOR\n\nSalmon: With cream sauce, smashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables (carrots, onions, turnips, and rutabaga) and served with rolls and butter. \n\nOR \n\nPasta Primavera:  Pasta tossed in a simple olive oil and herb dressing, accompanied by carrots, tomatoes, and squash, and topped with a garnish of parmesan cheese.\n\nDessert:\n\nDessert Parfait \nChocolate cake with Butterscotch pudding and chocolate Mousse \n\nSpace for this premier event is limited, and tickets must be purchased in advance. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening and there will be a cash bar with beer, wine, and Scotch whisky.\nD﻿oors will open at 6pm and meals will begin being served around 6:45pm.\nDon’t miss this unforgettable night of Scottish tradition, community, and revelry at Historic Rural Hill. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!\nBurns Nights are held around the world in celebration of Poet Robert Burns’ birthday typically around January 25th. The tradition started in July of 1801 when his friends met at his old home to celebrate the 5th year since his passing. A traditional Burns Night consists of haggis being piped in, a three course meal, several drams of whisky and performances honoring Burns’ great works.
